Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is a wonderful destination which is commonly referred as Queen of Hills. Shimla lies 2,128 metres above the sea level. Christ Church: Christ church is the second oldest church in India. Christ Church was designed in 1844 by Colonel JT Boileau but consecrated only after 1857. In 1860, Colonel Dumbelton donated a clock to the church.
Shimla State Museum: The famous Shimla State museum in Shimla protects the cultural wealth of the Shimla. Shimla State Museum has a great collection of painitings, coins, handicrafts etc. The Shimla State Museum was originated in 1974.
Bishop Cotton School: Bishop Cotton School is the one of the oldest school in Shimla which was established in 1859 by George Edward Lynch Cotton. But it started functioning in the year 1863. Bishop Cotton School is boarding school which is for boys only.
Kufri: The ideal place for trekking or skiing near Shimla is Kufri. Kufri is about 16 km away from Shimla. Kufri has many scenic views that attract the visitors worldwide. Kufri is also famous as a picnic spot. Kufri is almost 2510 metres above from the sea level.
Annandale: Annandale is a famous playground of Shimla which is used to play cricket and polo. Annandale is also a famous picnic spot for tourist.
Summer Hill: Summer Hill is a lovely town which is situated at 5 km from Ridge. The University of Himachal Pradesh is situated in Summer Hill. It is believed that Mahatma Gandhi stayed here during his visit to Shimla.

Jakhu Temple: A very beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. According to Hindu mythology, Hanuman relaxed here for some time when he was transporting Sanjeevani Buti for the Lord Lakshman as a medical herb from Himalya.
Sankat Mochan Temple: Sankat Mochan temple was established in 1950. Sankat Mochan temple is situated 5 kms away from Shimla. There is a three storey building in the temple which is used as Langer/Prasad hall.
Tara Devi: Tara Devi was built 250 years ago and is dedicated to Goddess of stars. Tara Devi lies at the top of the hill and is 11 km away from Shimla.
